Obituary of Wayne Eldon Goodwin

It is with great sadness that the family of Wayne E. Goodwin, announce his sudden and unexpected passing at his home on Tuesday, September 10, 2013. Wayne was 57 years of age. Born on May 4, 1956 in Sackville, N.B., he was the son of the late Eldon and Pearl (Cole) Goodwin. Previously, Wayne was a dedicated member of the Sackville Fire Department for over 25 years and during this time, served many years as Fire Chief. He also was a former member of Sackville Town Council. Wayne was an employee at Compact Appliances for the past 16 years. He was an avid hunter, outdoorsman and sportsman but his greatest joy in life was his family, especially his children and his grandchildren. Wayne will be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Carrie Anne (Conrad) LeBlanc and Becky (Jonathan) Partridge; grandchildren, Sophie and Isabelle LeBlanc and Landyn Partridge; brothers, Arthur (Diane) Goodwin and Walter (Denine) Goodwin; sisters, Eileen (Dan) Winton, Vara (Ron) Driscoll, Darlene (Jeff) Dixon, Ila (Ray Gallant) and Karen (Brian LeBlanc); special friend, Lucille LeBlanc; family friends, Doug and Louise Snowdon; the mother of his children, Caroline Parsons and by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Eldon and Pearl (Cole) Goodwin. Arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (364-8188). Visiting hours will take place at the funeral home on Friday, September 13, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will take place on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at 11 am at the funeral home with Rev. Vernon Vickruck officiating. Burial will take place in the Sackville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate that donations be given in Wayne’s memory to his grandchildren; these gifts can be made through Campbell’s Funeral Home. Donations may also be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to the charity of one’s choice.
