Obituary of Jean Mabel Scott
SACKVILLE, NB - Jean Scott, beloved mother, grandmother and sister, died Saturday, February 23rd, 2008 at the Moncton City Hospital due to heart failure, at the age of 84.
Jean was born February 4th, 1924 in Halifax, NS and was the daughter of the late Ernest and Annie Farrant.
Jean spent the last several years under the care of her daughter and son-in-law who will miss her dearly. Her life revolved around her family and special friends, her love of gardening and animals. She will be remembered as an especially caring and generous mother, grandmother, sister and friend who had a childlike curiosity and a love of life.
She is survived by three children, Beverley (Carl) Mills of Sackville, NB, Wayne Scott of Summerville, NS and Bruce (Sandi) Scott of Edmonton, Alta., a brother Robert (Lorraine) Farrant, of Dartmouth, NS and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents and her husband G. C. Scott; a brother, Donald Farrant; sisters, Ruth (Jack) Lynch, Joyce (Ralph) Hayes and a nephew, Bobbie Farrant.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge St., Sackville, on Wednesday February 27th from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. The funeral service will take place at 11:00 am at the funeral home on Thursday, February 28th. Burial will take place in the spring, in the Pinegrove Cemetery, Oxford, NS.
