Obituary of M. Jean MacLeod

Sackville, N.B.- It is with great sadness that the family of Jean (Brison) MacLeod, announces her peaceful passing on Monday, March 2, 2015 with her loving family by her side. Born in Cheverie, N.S. on September 16, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Margaret (Weatherbee) Brison. At the age of 19 years, Jean met and married Russell MacLeod, the love of her life. Quick witted, fast with a joke, Jean sparkled with eagerness for life. She had twinkling blue eyes and a vitality that was infectious. A deeply faithful lady with brains and talents who contributed profoundly to the churches and the people in the charges that she and Russell served. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, sister and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Jean will be lovingly remembered by her children, Heather McGinnis of Toronto, Ontario, Carol (Ralph) McKinley of Bramber, N.S., Anne MacLeod of Sackville, N.B., David (Amanda) MacLeod of Parrsboro, N.S. and Angela Morgan of Hartland, N.B.; two sisters, Elsie Harvie and Maudie Baptiste both of Windsor, N.S.; two brothers, Clifford Brison of Cheverie, N.S. and Wesley Brison of Windsor, N.S.; twelve grandchildren, Sean, Donna, Joyce, James, Christopher, Colleen, John Duncan, Alana, Russell, Christopher, Mackenzie and Molly; several great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was pre-deceased by her husband of 52 years, Russell Alexander MacLeod; three sisters, Lucy, Edith and Beatrice; two brothers, George and Laurence and by her son, Duncan. Arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (364-8188). Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at 11 am with Rev. Eldon Hay officiating. The burial will take place in the spring at the Cheverie United Church Cemetery in Cheverie, N.S. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Jean may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the charity of one’s choice.
