Obituary of M. Patricia Greenslade
Sackville, N.B.- It is with deep sadness that the family of Pat Greenslade announces her passing at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Saturday, March 7, 2015. Pat was 96 years of age.
Born in Wallasey, England on May 30, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Annie Mary (Fletcher) and Ernest James Rodgers.
Pat was a nurse in England for many years, followed by graduation from the Royal College of Midwifery, as a midwife. She also worked as a Health Visitor and as a T.B. Clinic Supervisor. Once she moved to Canada, Pat was employed as a Children’s Aid Director and also worked at the Psychiatric Clinic in Amherst, N.S.
Pat will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 60 years, Gareth Greenslade of Sackville; her son, Geoffrey Patridge of Toronto, Ontario; her sister, Joan Tinker of New Zealand and by her nephews and nieces in Canada, England and New Zealand.
Besides her parents, she was pre-deceased by her brother, William “Bill” Rodgers, England.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (364-8188). In keeping with Pat’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visiting hours. The funeral service will take place at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Sackville, on Tuesday, March 17th, 2015 at 2 pm with the Rev’d. Dr. Ranall Ingalls officiating. Following the service, a reception will take place at the church hall and all are invited to attend.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Pat may be made to the Sackville Memorial Hospital or to the charity of one’s choice.
