Dear Robert, Tessa and Noel,
It is with my greatest sadness to find your memorial tribute to your mom, who opened her house door to me 35 years ago today when I first arrived Mount Alison. Elisabeth helped me like a mom would have, to get me started in my study and career in this new world, and she taught me much more than just English and culture. Your tribute is well written and really captures her strong spirit, intelligence, loving and caring characters, and she will be missed forever.
I still keep this 2003 Mt A pond greeting card from your mom in my office, as I always remember the cold winter day of Sackville, and the warm hearts of its people.

Robert, I am sorry to learn of your loss. I still remember your Mom welcoming me into your home all those years ago. Bowes Avenue won't be the same. I know how much you will miss her. May she rest in peace.

My family and I grew up next to Liz on Bowes Avenue in Sackville NB and she was most definitely an integral part in my upbringing. I have fond memories of baking bread, learning to garden, doing arts and crafts in her basement, and spending hours chatting about school and literature in her living room. When I think of Liz I’ll always remember her excited kind spirit, her Volkswagen with the Canadian flag as she drove through town, her love for the outdoors, and her border collies (Jessie especially). I think about her often, she was an important part of my story and she will be greatly missed.

Me and my sister lived next to Elisabeth when we grew up. She was the kindest person i’ve ever met, she would often invite us over and cook super for us, teach us how to make bread or show us how to tend to the garden and taught us important lessons. She will be greatly missed.

Your mom was always welcoming and patient with our school day antics. Moving home many years later and having the chance to get to know her again was a pleasure. I would run into around town and we always had a pleasant chat. My sincere condolences, she will be missed.

Elisabeth was a dear lady who was a great help volunteering with the Canadian Red Cross office here in Sackville. I so enjoyed her company and her help. May fond memories give you comfort at this very difficult time.

Your mother was a participant in my evening fitness classes for 30 years. She never missed a class, regardless of how much physical work she had done during the day. Even after a two hour walk on the dykes and many hours working in her garden, she always came to class with the energy and determination of a person half her age.
When she was no longer able to attend the evening classes, Liz joined my morning fitness classes and would always comment on how she enjoyed the evening hours best.
She will be missed by all her fitness friends.
Sincere condolences,
Sheila Parker
