Obituary of Marjorie Gertrude (Jones) Wells

It is with great sadness that the family of Marjorie Gertrude (Jones) Wells of Point de Bute, NB, announces her passing on Monday, November 11, 2019 at the Drew Nursing Home in Sackville, NB.  Marjorie was 92 years of age.

Born on October 5, 1927 in Point de Bute, NB, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Alfreda (Adey) Jones. Marjorie was the wife of the late William Wells.

In her younger days, Marjorie was employed at Mount Allison University and then went on to work at the School for the Deaf in Amherst, NS for more than 30 years until her retirement.  Marj was a very good cook and enjoyed sharing with others.  She was a strong and independent woman, kind at heart and always ready to help a friend.  Marj enjoyed taking care of others, as she cared for her husband Willie and many others over the years.  She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. 

Marj will be lovingly remembered by her son, Richard (Susan) Wells; her grandchildren, Lisa Wells, Melanie Wells-Estabrooks (Ryan) and Gregory Wells (Kristine); her brothers, Aubrey (Elizabeth) Jones and Douglas (Diane) Jones, as well as by many other family and friends.

Besides her parents, she was pre-deceased by her husband, William Wells in 1998; her brother, Frank Jr. Jones, as well as by an infant brother.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (506) 364-8188. A memorial service will take place at Campbell’s Funeral Home on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at 1 pm with Pastor Andrew Swanson officiating. The burial will take place at the Point de Bute Cemetery.
