Obituary of Geraldine Louise (Wheaton) Trenholm

It is with great sadness that we must announce the passing of Geraldine Louise (Wheaton) Trenholm, age 99, at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, February 28, 2024.

Born on October 23, 1924 in Mount View, NB, she was the daughter of the late Natalie (Cook) Wheaton and William Wheaton.

Geraldine was a graduate of Mount Allison Academy and enjoyed travelling in her younger years, and she made a big trip to Ireland with Lois Trenholm when they were 80 years old. She was very active with the Middle Sackville Baptist Church and the Missionary Society. Geraldine was active in the Sackville Senior Citizen’s Club and always loved the Friday night card parties. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Geraldine will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Ross (Rhonda) Trenholm and Leslie (the late Rose-Helene) Trenholm; her five grandchildren, Benjamin (Melissa) Trenholm, Amity Trenholm (Michelle Underhill), Cheryl Trenholm, Christine (Igor) Ivanoff and Matthew Trenholm; her four great-grandchildren, Lyla, Jasper, Felicity and Akyla, as well as by many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was pre-deceased by her husband, Norman Trenholm; her brother, Gerald Wheaton, as well as by her sisters, Elsie, Kathleen, Freda and Gwen.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the Autum Lee Retirement Home in Sackville, the staff of the Sackville Memorial Hospital and Rev. Mark Reece for their care and kindess.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Erin Campbell and staff of Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville N.B. (506) 364-8188. Visiting hours will take place at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 from 2 PM until the time of the service at 3 PM with Pastor Mark Reece officiating. The burial will take place in the spring in the Four Corners Cemetery.
