Patricia (Hopkins) LeBlanc

Obituary of Patricia Gayle (Hopkins) LeBlanc

It is with broken hearts that the family of Patricia Gayle LeBlanc sadly announce her passing on January 25, 2024. Pat passed away at the age of 77 at the Moncton Hospital surrounded by her family.

Born on January 18, 1947 in Sackville, NB, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Helen (Porter) Hopkins.

Pat was a source of energy in anything she put her mind to. She was the force behind establishing the Sackville Co-Op Store, she loved a good argument and playing numerous jokes on her son-in-law, Kevin, whom she adored. Pat also worked at Mount Allison University for 20 years as a custodian where she developed many friendships with her co-workers and her special MTA friends, one being Nelene MacLeod who she remained lifelong friends with for 49 years. She worked many jobs after retiring from MTA, in a local tanning salon, Fitness FX, Kookie Kutter and the Lighthouse at the NS border. She also worked as a veterinary assistant with her boss Gina Bradet, who has remained one of her dearest friends and one who she loved to argue with.

Pat loved her children and her role as Gramma to Liam. She and the love of her life, Frank, loved to take trips to Peggy’s Cove and spend time together gardening and being in their garden shed. They had a common love of feeding the many critters that came to visit including the birds, “special crows, Jimmy and Jane”, squirrels, “Chippy the chipmunk”, “Willie Wonka the groundhog” and of course, spending most of their lives with cats who they adored and treated like their children.

A special thank you to Dani Hopkins who shared so many stories, photos and videos with us over the past four weeks, they shall be forever treasured.

Pat will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Wendy Price (Kevin); her son, Michael LeBlanc (Mandi); her grandson, Liam Price; her brothers, Fred Hopkins (Dorette) and Dan Hopkins (Diana); her sisters, Carol O’Blenis (late Earl) and Kathy Brent, as well as by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Besides her parents, Pat was pre-deceased by her husband, Frank Joseph LeBlanc who passed on January 12, 2024, as well as by her sisters, Nancy Fougere and Helen (Bobbie) Tower.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Erin Campbell and staff of Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville N.B. (506) 364-8188. In keeping with Pat’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visiting hours or funeral service. There will be a celebration of life for Pat and Frank this summer with the location and date to be announced at a later time.

If so desired, donations in memory of Pat may be made to CARMA Sackville Chapter, PAW (Moncton) or to the charity of one’s choice.
