Obituary of Elisabeth Anne Hallett

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Elisabeth Anne Hallett, age 74, on Thursday, December 28, 2023. Elisabeth passed away peacefully at her home in Sackville, with her family by her side.

Elisabeth (Libby) was born in Millville, NB, the fifth of nine children, to James and Dorothy Hallett.

She will be dearly missed by her surviving siblings, Clarence (Jan) Hallett, Robert (Carol) Hallett, Dianne Schriver, Marguerite (Ellis) Fawcett, Murray (Rhonda) Hallett and James (Julie) Hallett; her sister-in-law, Lesley Hallett, as well as by many other family members extending to great-great nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her partner of many years, Barbara Steele, her sister, Jamalene Drost; her brother, Howard Hallett, as well as by her brothers-in-law, Gordon Drost and Alton Schriver.

Libby took every opportunity to be helpful and encouraging to her many nieces and nephews while teaching them to volunteer and assist others. While in Sackville she made many close friends such as Elsie McDonald; Heather Patterson; Chris Embree; Gordon Grover and the many other volunteers she worked with.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Erin Campbell and staff of Campbell’s Funeral Home, Sackville (506) 364-8188. A memorial gathering will take place at the Sackville United Church on Saturday, December 30, 2023 from 1 to 2pm with Rev. Lloyd Bruce officiating and all are welcome to attend. Elisabeth’s remains will be buried next to her mother in the spring in the Upper Hainesville Cemetery.

Elisabeth wished for you to do a good deed for someone and think of her but if you desire to make a donation, they may be made to the Sackville Food Bank in her memory.
