Obituary of Arnold Morris Hicks

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Arnold Morris Hicks, age 77, of Woodpoint, NB on Sunday, November 5, 2023. Arnold passed away at the Sackville Memorial Hospital with his family by his side.

Born in Sackville, NB on November 5, 1946, he was the son of the late Ross Miller Hicks and Rhoda Anne Kaye.

Arnold was a hard-worker and was employed at the Enterprise Foundry for more than thirty years.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, trapping, horseback riding, four wheeling and summers at the cottage. Arnold loved his family so much and especially enjoyed his time with his wife, his children, his grandchildren and his great-grandchildren.

Arnold will be sadly missed by his wife of 58 years, Carol Anne (Wood) Hicks; his children, Chris (Robyn), Shawn (Kim) and Hope; his brothers, Oakley (Sandra) Hicks and Courtney Hicks; his sister, Alberta VanHooke; his grandchildren, Tristan (Wendy), Xander, Ethan and Haylee; his great-grandchildren, Sadie, Lachlan and Isabelle, as well as by his extended family and friends.

Besides his parents, he was pre-deceased by his siblings, Sheldon Hicks, Ruth Estabrooks, Mitchell Hicks and Kirk Hicks.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Erin Campbell and staff of Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville N.B. (506) 364-8188. In keeping with Arnold’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visiting hours or funeral service. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date.

If so desired, donations in memory of Arnold may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the charity of one’s choice.
