Evan Donald

Obituary of Evan Matthew Donald

With deep sadness we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Evan at the Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops, BC. Evan passed away doing what he loved most, snowboarding on Mt. McKenzie in Revelstoke, BC. Evan is survived by his parents, James & Joy Donald, his brother Trevor, his sister Brieana, grandparents Fred & Sharon Lund, uncles, aunts, cousins and many friends. He was preceded by his grandparents, Ernest and Marg Donald and aunt, Gail Lund. Evan brought joy and happiness to all who knew him. An awesome young man he was loving, compassionate and dedicated to his family and friends. His good nature and easy smile endeared him to many and he was always ready to lend a hand. Evan’s deepest love was snowboarding in the mountains. He loved the freedom and the beauty. His other passions in life were traveling, photography, writing poetry, reading, sketching, nature, and spending time with friends and family. Evan, though only 23, packed a great deal of life into his time here on earth. Evan’s last gifts were to donate his organs to save six other lives. Rest in peace Evan, we love you and miss you. You inspired us all and we will live every day with you in our hearts. Cremation has taken place and some of Evan’s ashes have been spread on Mt. MacKenzie by his family and Revelstoke friends. In one of Evan’s poems that he wrote last fall he said, “I believe my soul will move as free as the wind.” The family will receive friends at the Upper Sackville United Church, Pond Shore Road, Upper Sackville, NB on Sunday March 27, 2011 at 2 p.m. for a memorial service. If possible we ask that everyone wear or bring a snowflake in Evan’s memory. Donations in his memory may be made to Ronald McDonald House.
