Obituary of Trudy Phyllis Welton
Springhill, N.S.- Surrounded by her family and friends, Trudy Phyllis Welton was welcomed into the arms of those that have gone before her on Monday, May 9, 2011 at the All Saint’s Hospital in Springhill, N.S. She was 56 years of age.
Born in Springhill on June 12, 1954, Trudy was the daughter of the late Helen (Fisher) and Ralph Mattix.
Trudy worked for the CRHCC at the All Saint’s Hospital in Springhill for over 20 years. She greatly enjoyed dancing, bowling, sewing and spending time with her close friends, Judy Brown, Karen and Charlie Alsin, Carolyn Merrey and Heather Canning. Trudy was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to continue on the work she began are her loved ones, her husband of 30 years, Gordie Welton; six children, Tanya (Dale) MacGregor, Tina Scott, George (Kim) Scott, Crystal Scott, Matthew Welton (Kelsey MacIsaac) and Gordie Welton Jr.; three brothers, Tim (Karen) Baker, Bob (Virginia) Baker and Alex “Bubbles” (Bev) Sharpe; two sisters, Cheryl Ann White and Mary Lou Guoy; thirteen grandchildren; one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, Trudy was pre-deceased by her three sisters, Terry Holden, Connie Sharpe and Judy Sharpe and by her brother, Carl Mattix.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (364-8188). It was Trudy’s greatest wish to have a celebration of her life, not a mourning of her passing. Her family are asking you join them to celebrate her life on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Salvation Army Community Church in Springhill, N.S. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 12, 2011 at 2 pm at the Salvation Army Community Church, Springhill, with Captain Chad Ingram officiating. A reception will follow.
Donations in memory of Trudy may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society Research Fund or to the charity of one’s choice.
