Obituary of Shirley Corinne Sears

Sackville, N.B.- Shirley C. Sears passed away quietly at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital, Moncton, N.B. on Saturday, November 19, 2011. She was 87 years of age. Born in Sackville, N.B. on December 29, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Theodocia (Scott) and Fred Beattie. Shirley will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 69 years, Basil Sears, Sackville; her five children, Barbara (Brian) Hulley of Upper Cape, N.B., Sandra Boal of Ottawa, Ontario, Janice (Rob) Legere of Shediac Bridge, N.B., Michael (Liza) of Dorchester, N.B. and Kevin of Moncton, N.B. ; daughter-in-law, Mary Jane Sears; seven grandchildren, Jennifer, Cindi, Alison, Alicia, Taylor, Kristine and Sara; seven great-grandchildren, Justin, Cole, Cassandra, Caleb, Hayden, Mackenzie, Aiden and by her half-brother, Junior Beattie. Arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (364-8188). A grave-side service will take place on Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at 11 am at the Sackville Cemetery with Pastor Andrew Swanson officiating. Following the burial, a reception in celebration of Shirley’s life will be held at the Main Street Baptist Church Vestry at 12 noon. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Shirley may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society, Canadian Cancer Research Society or to the charity of ones choice. “Remember me with smiles, for that is how I will remember you all. If you can only remember me with tears, then please don’t remember me at all.”
