Obituary of Arnold Powell Estabrooks

Sackville, N.B.- It is with great sadness that the family of Arnold P. Estabrooks announce his passing at the Drew Nursing Home on Saturday, December 10, 2011. Arnold was 83 years of age. Born in Boston, Massachusets on March 31, 1928, he was the son of the late Abner and Bertha (Turner) Estabrooks. Arnold lived in Sackville his whole life and worked with his father in the grocery business for several years in Sackville and Pointe de Bute, N.B. He also worked at Fawcett Foundry and in the maintenance department for the Sackville Fire Department. Arnold had a passion for gardening and enjoyed puttering around his home. Arnold will be sadly missed by his sister, Audrey (Rufus) Reid; three nephews, Michael (Ellen) Reid, Rick Reid and Wayne Estabrooks; niece, Kim (Ken) Godfrey and several other nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife Shirley Marie (Wheaton) Estabrooks in 2007 and by his brother Raymond Estabrooks. Arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (506) 364-8188. In keeping with Arnold’s wishes there will be no visiting hours. The funeral service will take place at Campbell’s Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at 2 pm with Pastor Andrew Swanson officiating. Burial will take place in the Sackville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Arnold may be made to the Drew Nursing Home, Moncton SPCA or to the charity of one’s choice.
