Obituary of Barbara Anne (McPhee) Tucker
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Barbara Anne Tucker, age 84, on Friday, July 7, 2023, at her home in Bayfield, NB.
Born in Pictou, NS on October 21, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Daniel MacPhee and Annie Laura (Holt) MacPhee.
Barbara attended the Pictou Academy studying office administration and following her graduation, she moved to Cape Tormentine to work in the office of the Cape Tormentine Lobster Factory. This is where she met Albert. She was also a member of the United Church.
Barbara and Albert worked together on their family farm for all of their married life. She was an avid gardener and she and Albert planted a large vegetable garden every spring. She especially loved her flowers, and her favorites were gladiolas, geraniums, dahlias and hollyhocks. Barbara was happy to share her gardening tips with friends and family over the years.
Barbara will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 62 years, Albert Lloyd Tucker; her four children, Sharon (Philip) Palmeter, Nevin (Fran) Tucker, Arthur (Debby) Tucker and Brad (Chelsea) Tucker; her six grandchildren, Grant (Amy) Palmeter, Wade (Kelsi) Palmeter, Samantha (Nick) Munroe, Cameron (Courtney) Tucker, Kristin (Evelyn) Tucker and Sarah (Marcello) Tucker, as well as by her six great-grandchildren, Maddison, Bryor, Alice, Colin, Eddie and Isabelle.
Funeral arrangements are in the care of Erin Campbell and staff of Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge St. Sackville NB. There will be a private service for Barbara’s family and the burial will take place in the Bayfield Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Barbara’s memory may be made to the Bayfield Cemetery or to the charity of one’s choice.
