Obituary of Angelina Gertrude Ayer
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of A. Gertrude (Lund) Ayer, 95, on June 28, 2012 at the Sackville Memorial Hospital.
Born on January 14, 1917, in Hillsborough, N.B., she was the daughter of the late Eva (Lowe) and James A. Tower. She was the last surviving member of her family.
Gertrude will be greatly missed by her daughter, Deborah G. (Lund) Estabrooks (Peter); two step-daughters, Dorothy (Rodney) Smith and Margaret MacPhee; daughter-in-law, Pat (Jim) Ramsay; seven grandchildren, Candice (Sam), Damon (Lisa), Natasha, Shelley (Doug), Kimm (Glen), Scott (Sherri) and Shawn and by five great-grandchildren.
She was pre-deceased by her first husband, Herman Lund; second husband, Gerald Ayer; son, Darrell and by her two brothers, Harry and Gerald.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (364-8188). Cremation has taken place and in keeping with Gertrude’s wishes, there will no visiting hours. A graveside service will take place at the Sackville Cemetery on Monday, July 2, 2012 at 1:30 pm with Rev. Hal Lowther officiating.
Donations in memory of Gertrude may be made to the Sackville Memorial Hospital or to the charity of one’s choice.
