Great-grandmother of Logan and Madison Potvin, Oliver, Vita, and Ivan Longpre, and Jane and Noah Dixon. Evelyn is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Evelyn was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Besides her beloved husband, Ellwyn, Evelyn was predeceased by her parents, her sisters, Hildreth Kerr and Edna Cooke and her brother Irvine Hould, all of Sudbury, Ontario.
In her early years Evelyn worked for the Kitchener office of the MacLean Hunter Magazine, then the secretary of the St. Mary’s Hospital School of Nursing, and lastly with the Twin City Community Credit Union Evelyn designed her own templates for her quilts and even when she wasn’t quilting, she was knitting or working on her puzzles. She loved bingo nights and playing cards with her family and friends and she loved her pets. Rosie was a comfort to her in her last days.
Evelyn's family are deeply appreciative of the Nursing staff and care Mom received while at the Drew. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, Sackville (506) 364-8188. In keeping with Evelyn’s wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. A private family service will take place at a later date in Glen Allen, Ontario.
