Obituary of Colin George Hicks

It is with deep sadness that the family of Colin George Hicks announces his passing following a brief illness.  Colin passed away at the Moncton Hospital on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at the age of 63.

Born in Sackville, N.B. on April 2, 1955, he was the son of the late George Arlington Hicks and Marjorie Elaine (Pauley).

Colin was a man of simplicity and was proud to be from Sackville.  He liked antique cars and always enjoyed local sporting events such as Titan and Mountie football and hockey games. 

Colin will be lovingly remembered by his three brothers, Peter of Sackville, Jeff of Kitchener, Ontario and David (Ellen) of Sackville; his nephew, Ben of Oshawa, Ontario; his nieces, Katie of Sackville and Alex of Kitchener, Ontario, as well as by his aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was pre-deceased by his parents, George and Marjorie Hicks.

Colin’s family wishes to send a heartfelt thank you to the staff at the neuro intensive care unit at the Moncton Hospital for their kindness, care and assistance.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville N.B. (506) 364-8188.  In keeping with Colin’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visiting hours or funeral service.  The burial will take place in the spring in the Westcock Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Colin may be made to the NB Organ and Tissue Program or to the charity of one’s choice.
