Obituary of Leonard Albion Hicks

Leonard A. Hicks of Sackville, N.B., passed away at the Moncton Hospital on Sunday, August 5, 2018 at the age of 74.

Born in Sackville, N.B. on July 25, 1944, he was the son of the late Medley and Leota (Wheaton) Hicks of Midgic, N.B.

Len was part of the Rustic Harmony Band for 25 years, playing in Canada as well as the USA, travelling and playing music with his wife Pat Ann for many joyous years.  He has made many wonderful friends through the years, all of whom showed their support to Len and Pat Ann in their times of crisis.  Len enjoyed his cottage at Ann’s Acres in Bayfield, it was their happy place.  He also enjoyed woodworking, crafts and gardening.

Len will be greatly missed by his wife of 53 years, Pat Ann Hicks; his daughter, Stephanie and her husband, Patrick and their son, Spencer of Saint John, N.B.  He is also survived by his sisters, Donna of Sackville, N.B. and Kay (Victor) of Centervillage, N.B.; his brothers, Claude (Margie) of Moncton, N.B. and Baxter (Pat) of Shediac, N.B. Len will be lovingly remembered by his family, nieces, nephews and many dear friends.

Besides his parents, he was pre-deceased by his brothers, Austin, Harold and Carl.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville N.B. (506) 364-8188.  In keeping with Len’s wishes, there will be no visiting hours or funeral service. Len has been cremated and will remain in the tender loving care of his wife’s heart.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Len may be made to the ALS Society of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia or to the charity of one’s choice.
