Obituary of Ronald Curtis Piers
It is with deep sadness that we must announce the sudden passing of Ron Piers on Saturday, June 10, 2017, at the age of 66.
Born on August 20, 1950 in Hampton, N.B., he was the son of the late Leonard and Doris (Johnston) Piers.
Ron drove tractor trailers for many years for various companies, drove taxi for Sackville Cab for a few years and was a huge fan of Nascar.
Ron will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 34 years, Jackie (Bourque) Piers; his son, Dan; his daughter, Nicole; his grandson, Zachary and his granddaughter, Elisha King (Matt). Ron was a family man and really loved his children and grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Joyce (Tommy) Curran; his mother-in-law, Stephanie Bourque, as well as by many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was pre-deceased by his son, Gary Bourque; his brothers, Doug (Phyllis) and Bob (Lorraine), as well as by three infant brothers, including his twin, Roland.
The family would like to thank Extramural and all of the others who came to his home and offered their professional help. A special thank you to Dr. Milne for all of the care she gave Ron over the years.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (506) 364-8188. In keeping with Ron’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A reception and time for family and friends to share memories of Ron will be held at Campbell’s Funeral Home on Saturday, June 17, 2017 from 2-4 pm. The burial will take place at a later date, in the Sackville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Ron may be made to the SPCA, which will honor his love of all animals, or to the charity of one’s choice.
