Obituary of Margaret A. Wheeler

It is with sadness but peace of heart that we announce the passing of our mother, Margaret A. Wheeler on Sunday, January 8, 2017 at the age of 91. Born in Sackville, N.B. on February 11, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Maude A. Buck and Chester A. Maxwell. Margaret was a member of St. Ann’s Anglican Church in Westcock, N.B. She was a graduate of Mount Allison Academy, Acadia and McGill Universities. Margaret worked as a public librarian in Pictou County, N.S. and she retired from Mount Allison University as a librarian in 1987. Margaret will be lovingly remembered by her son, Eric Wheeler (Dorothy Johnson); her daughter, Barbara H. Wheeler; her step-grandson, John (Katherine) Johnson as well as by several nieces and nephews. Margaret was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Besides her parents and siblings, she was pre-deceased by her husband, Howard E. Wheeler and by her son, Gordon A. Wheeler. Arrangements are entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (364-8188). In keeping with Margaret’s wishes, there will be no visiting hours. The funeral service will be held from St. Ann’s Anglican Church, Westcock, N.B. on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at 11 am with The Rev’d Dr. Ranall Ingalls officiating. Burial will take place in the spring in the Sackville Cemetery. A time of fellowship and remembrance will be shared following the service at the St. Ann’s Anglican Church Hall. Donations in Margaret’s memory may be made to the Tantramar Extra-Mural Program, Sackville Memorial Hospital Auxiliary or to the charity of one’s choice.
