Obituary of George Leslie Hutchison
It is with sadness but peace of heart, that the family of George Leslie Hutchison, announce his passing on Thursday, October 17, 2013 at the Moncton Hospital.
Born on December 11, 1929 in Cape Spear, N.B., he was the son of the late Duncan McCallum and Helen (Robertson) Hutchison, who immigrated to Canada from Scotland in 1927.
George was a veteran of the Army and served twice in Korea as a young man. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #81, Cape Tormentine, N.B. George’s garden was known far and wide but most everything he grew he gave away to family and friends. He enjoyed eating lobster, fishing, was a very entertaining person and well known among his women friends as someone who loved to joke and tease.
George will be lovingly remembered by his sister, Catherine Trenholm of Cape Spear, N.B.; by his nephew Wilbert (Georgina) Trenholm of Cape Spear, N.B. and by many nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by his parents and by his other brothers and sisters.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (364-8188). In keeping with George’s wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no visiting hours or funeral service at this time. The burial will take place at the Fernwood Cemetery, Port Elgin, N.B. at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of George may be made to the Cape Tormentine Royal Canadian Legion Branch #81 or to the charity of one’s choice.
