Obituary of Nora Mabel Tapley
It is with sadness, but peace of heart that we must announce the death of Nora Mabel Tapley, on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at the Drew Nursing Home in Sackville. Nora was 101 years of age.
Born in Sackville, N.B. on February 21, 1914, she was the daughter of the late Nora Millicent (Wiggins) Fisher and Frederick Arnold Fisher.
Nora married John Harvey Tapley of Saint John, N.B. who died in 1999. She was a devoted member of St. Ann’s Anglican Church and won an award for her years of faithful service on the altar guild. Nora will be sadly missed by her family and many in the community.
Nora will be lovingly remembered by her children, Peter (Mary Ann), Jack (Brenda) and Katherine (David) Milton; four grandchildren, Patricia Love, Pamela Tapley, Susan Walker and Billy Tapley; eight great-grandchildren; step-grandson, Brian (Irene) Tingley; step-granddaughter, Janet Tingley and by her goddaughter, Donna Estabrooks.
Besides her parents, she was pre-deceased by her daughter, Margaret Tingley; her three brothers, George, John and Bill and by her sister, Kaye.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (364-8188). In keeping with Nora’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visiting hours. The funeral service will take place at St. Ann’s Anglican Church, Westcock, N.B. on Friday, August 28, 2015 at 2 pm with The Rev’d Dr. Ranall Ingalls officiating. The burial will take place at the Sackville Cemetery. Following the burial, a reception will be held at the St. Ann’s Anglican Church Hall for family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances to the Sackville Memorial Hospital Foundation, St. Ann’s Anglican Church Hall, Drew Nursing Home or to the charity of one’s choice would be appreciated.
