Obituary of Sylvia Partridge
It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts, that the family of Sylvia Ann Partridge, announce her passing after a 3 year long battle with cancer, with her loving family at her side, on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at the Sackville Memorial Hospital. Sylvia was 62 years of age.
Born on May 4, 1952 in Halifax, N.S., she was the daughter of Pat(Chapman) and the late Frederick Frank Wheaton.
Sylvia earned her GED and went on to graduate from NBCC in 1996 with her LPN degree. She was an employee of the Drew Nursing Home in Sackville where she worked for 30 years. Sylvia loved her job and her dedication, hard work and willingness to go above and beyond, earned her numerous certificates of appreciation and the “Audrey D. Galbraith Excellence In Practice Award” in 2010.
She was a loving daughter, wife, sister, mother and grandmother who loved to sing, dance and spend time at the cottage, but above all, she would tell you that her grandchildren were her everything.
Sylvia will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 40 years, Terry Wayne Partridge of Sackville, N.B.; her mother, Pat (Robert) Pardy of Moncton, N.B.; her two daughters, Carey (Scott) Tower of Dorchester, N.B. and Krista (Cory) Estabrooks of Sackville, N.B.; her son, Ryan (Melissa) Partridge of Moncton, N.B.; three brothers, Gordon (Sheila) Wheaton of Amherst, N.S., Greg (Tracey) Wheaton of Ontario and Teddy (Marilyn) Wheaton of Dorchester, N.B.; her sister, Tracey (Robert) Wilson of Sackville, N.B.; her seven grandchildren, Brody, Brett and Colby Tower, Riley and Alexis Estabrooks and Kyle and Brandon Partridge; her mother-in-law, Shirley Partridge-Irvin (Gordon) of Oshawa, ON; her brother-in-law, Robert “Bob” Partridge (Kathy) of Sackville, N.B. and by many nieces and nephews.
Besides her father, she was pre-deceased by her brother-in-law, Bruce Partridge and by her father-in-law, Frederick Partridge.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (364-8188). Visiting hours will take place at the funeral home on Monday, August 18, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will take place at the Main Street Baptist Church on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at 2 pm with Pastor Andrew Swanson officiating. Burial will take place in the Sackville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Sylvia may be made to the Sackville Fire Department, Canadian Cancer Society or to the charity of one’s choice.
