Obituary of Louis Herring
Malden, N.B.- It is with great sadness, that the family of Louis Herring announce his passing at the Moncton Hospital, on Monday, February 11, 2013 with his loving family by his side. Louis was 88 years of age.
Born on September 13, 1924 in Murray Harbour, PEI, he was the son of the late Mary Belle (McIntosh) and Montford Herring of Murray Harbour, PEI.
Louis served in the Royal Canadian Navy during World War 2. After the war, Louis worked as a commercial fisherman; and in the construction industry for Schurman’s of Summerside, PEI. Until retirement he worked as a heavy equipment operator and foreman with Warren Maritimes Paving. He was a life-long member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #81, Cape Tormentine, N.B.
Louis will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 65 years, Arlene (Wall) Herring; five children, Linda, Debi, Mark (Jennifer), Shane and Marty (Darla); eight grandchildren, Jennifer, Cameron, Shamus, Kayla, Ryan, Emily, Aidan and Caleb; five great-grandchildren, Willow, Dawson, Ava, Quinne and Nolan; many nieces and nephews and by his special friends, Bill and Pat Drysdale and Ali and Margie Halliday.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (364-8188). In keeping with Louis’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visiting hours. A service to celebrate Louis’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Louis may be made to the Cape Tormentine United Church or to the charity of one’s choice.
