My gradad was the beat man I've where known, he may of served our country once upon a time.. but he served me and my family more than anyone (other than my parents) ever has. My gradad was my best friend, my hero, and honestly felt like a parental figure.. no matter how much I did wrong, he always assured me thatni was a good person.. he always made me feel wanted, he always made me laugh, and made me feel like being myself was 100% okay. My gradad' diagnosis broke my heart.. and only months later did he pass... in those times, I learned to grow, to accept and to love myself.
I remember being a 5 year old girl and being scared/disgusted by his huge.. once I turned 10 I loved his hugs, his warmth, his laughter... I learned his favorite songs on guitar and learned to pursue singing and guitar playing just to please him and myself. He always said, "you have so much spanking, kid" and it meant a lot... he would take ridiculous pictures with me and love me no matter what... regardless of circumstances. I love you gradad... I miss ylu everyday
