Obituary of Joseph Earl Johnson
Westcock, N.B.- It is with great sorrow, that the family of Joe Johnson announce his passing at the Moncton Hospital on Saturday, November 15, 2014. Joe was 71 years of age.
Born in Sackville, N.B. on March 10th, 1943, he was the son of the late Donald and Margaret (Estabrooks) Johnson.
Joe worked all his life to provide for his family and retired several times, but never quite got the hang of retirement and was still working weeks before his heart surgery. Joe enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time at his camp. He was truly loved by so many, an amazing man and it was an honor to have him in our lives.
Joe will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 50 years, Rachel (Smith) Johnson; his daughters, Jennifer (Billy Morrison) Johnson and Mary Jo (Dannie) Thompson; his grandsons, Brandon Johnson, Dalton Thompson and Logan Thompson; his brothers, Benjamin (Barb), Ronald, David (Avis), Brian (Brenda), Robert (Kim), Larry (Carmelle) and Frederick (Debbie) and by his sisters, Joan Milner, Pearl (Ronald) Stone and Judy (Richard) Robichaud and by many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Joe was predeceased by his sister-in-law, Cynthia Johnson and by his brother-in-law, Robert Milner.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville (364-8188). In keeping with Joe’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private graveside service will take place at the Westcock Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Joe may be made to the Westcock Cemetery or charity of one’s choice.
