Obituary of Dorothy LeLacheur
Sackville, N.B.- It is with deep sadness that the family of Dorothy Edith (MacLaren) LeLacheur, announces her unexpected passing on Saturday, December 13, 2014 in Jolicure, N.B. Dot was 81 years of age.
Born in Mount Stewart, PEI on April 28, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Edith (Jay) and Bruce MacLaren.
Dot was a lifetime member of the Sackville Curling Club, was involved in the Sackville United Church and in earlier years she was involved in the Girl Guides of Canada. Dot was a Registered Nurse at the Drew Nursing Home in Sackville for many years. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Dot will be lovingly remembered by her children, Nancy Everett, David LeLacheur and Katherine LeLacheur; granddaughter, Alicia Allan (nee Everett); great grandchildren, Kayla Everett and Derek Allan and by several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Art LeLacheur; brother, Angus MacLaren and by an infant brother, Donald.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville (364-8188). In keeping with Dot’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, January 6th, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Campbell’s Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 7th, 2015 at 2 pm with Rev. Catherine Smith officiating. Following the service all are invited to a reception at the funeral home. Burial will take place at a later date, in the Sackville Cemetery.
Donations in memory of Dot may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
