Obituary of Garth Carmen Hassan Trenholm
Garth Carmen Hassan Trenholm of Cape Tormentine, NB, passed away with family at his side on the evening of Saturday, January 10, 2015 at the Sackville Memorial Hospital.
Born on August 6th, 1934, he was the son of the late Hassan and Edna (Stright) Trenholm.
Garth was a kind, loving, hard-working husband, father and friend. His first love was his family, followed closely by his love of the sea and fishing.
Garth is survived by the love of his life and wife of 58 years, Joan. He will be sadly missed by his loving children, Linda (Kevin) Ceretti, Tony (Sherry) Trenholm, Deborah Oulton, Chanse (Alison) Trenholm, and Wayne Mountain. He will be forever cherished by his grandchildren, Dustin (Emily) Ceretti, Kendra Ceretti, Shanda Ceretti, Tuana (Chris) Parisee, Tamika Oulton and Teona (Max) Bjork and by his great-grandchildren, Jaxon Ceretti, Nora Ceretti and Bailey Parisee. He was also a dear brother to Lois (Carl) Marr, Irma (Worthen) Spence, Joanie (Jim) Levangie, Brian (Charlene) Trenholm and Karen Trenholm. Garth will be remembered by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was pre-deceased by his brother Weldon Trenholm and a daughter Rosalee Trenholm.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (506) 364-8188. Visitation will be held at his home, 89 Route 955, Cape Tormentine, NB. on Tuesday, January 13th and Wednesday, January 14th from 11 am to 4 pm and 6 to 9 pm, both days. The funeral service will be held at the Cape Tormentine United Church commencing at 11am on Thursday, January 15th with William Drysdale, DLM, officiating. Burial will take place in the Bayfield Cemetery. Following the burial, family and friends are invited to the Cape Tormentine Legion, Branch #81 for a reception.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Cape Tormentine United Church.
