Obituary of Charles Robert Cormier
Sackville, N.B.- The death of Charles R. Cormier, age 77, of Sackville, N.B., occurred on Monday, April 30, 2007 at the Sackville Memorial Hospital.
Born in Sackville, N.B. on January 31, 1930, he was the son of the late Joseph Norbert and Laura Lillian Ogden.
Charlie was employed at Enamel and Heating, currently known as IMP from 1952 until his retirement in 1995 at the age of 64. Charlie enjoyed life to the fullest and spent time in his earlier years fishing and in later years driving the countryside between Sackville and Shediac.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Madelyn Cormier of Sackville, N.B.; daughter Chantal Cormier (Stuart Crossman) of Portage, N.B.; brother Douglas Cormier of Charlottetown, PEI; several nieces and nephews; step-children Danny (Lois) of Sackville, N.B., Randy (Wanda) of Halifax, N.S., Tony (Carol) of Sackville, N.B., Jody (Cindy) of Sackville, N.B. and Kathy (Gerald) of Parrsboro, N.S., seventeen step-grandchildren; two great step-grandchildren; his very special friend Amos Melanson and his cat Gabby.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Joyce Ashe Cormier.
Arrangements are entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (364-8188). Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation by request of the family. The funeral service will be held from St. Vincent’s Roman Catholic Church on May 4, 2007 at 11 AM with Father Allison Carroll officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Charlie may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Diabetic Association, St. Vincent’s Roman Catholic Cemetery or to the charity of ones choice.
