Obituary of Ronald John Noel
Sackville, N.B.- The death of Ronald John Noel, age 88,of Sackville, N.B., occurred on Thursday, May 31, 2007 at the Drew Nursing Home, Sackville.
Born in Saint John, N.B. on December 4, 1918, he was the son of the late John and Ida (LeBlanc) Noel.
Ronald was a veteran of WWII and served in the Armed Forces RCE, 1939-1945 and reenlisted from 1949-1969. He did two tours as Peacekeeper to the Gaza Strip with UNEF Construction, Engineers (RCE).
After retirement from the Armed Forces in 1969, Ron and his family moved back to Sackville, hometown of his wife Alice, where he worked at Lockhart’s Lumber before permanently retiring. In December of 2006, he moved into the Drew Nursing Home where he resided until his death.
Ronald will be sadly missed by his wife Alice (Bourgeois) Noel of Sackville, N.B.; daughter Carol Noel of Kingston, Ontario; sister Betty Noel of Saint John, N.B.; brother Wayne (Louise) Noel of Rhode Island; granddaughter Kimberlie (Alex) Matteau of Dartmouth, N.S. and great-grandchildren, Andrew and Katie Thomson of Dartmouth, N.S.
He was predeceased by his sisters, Anita and Connie and his brothers, Gerald and Earl.
Arrangements are entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (364-8188). Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation by request. A memorial service will be held at the Drew Nursing Home, 165 Main Street, Sackville, N.B.. On Monday, June 4, 2007 at 3 PM with Father Allison Carroll officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in the Holy Rosary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Ronald may be made to the charity of ones choice.
