Obituary of Elizabeth May MacDonald
Sackville, N.B.- It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Elizabeth M. (Munroe) MacDonald, age 81,on Sunday, January 27, 2008 at the Sackville Memorial Hospital.
Born in Halifax, N.S. on March 27, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Ethel (Boutilier) Munroe.
Bessie was employed at Scotia Nursing Home until her retirement. She spent her retirement years enjoying her family and was greatly loved by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Bessie will be sadly missed by her seven children, Jean (Phil) MacPherson of Lower Sackville, N.S., Anne Marie (Vernon) Kane of Dartmouth, N.S., Carolyn (Herbie) Combden of Bowmanville, Ontario, Cynthia (Kendall) Lively of Dartmouth, N.S., Keith (Shirley) MacDonald of Dartmouth, N.S., Barry MacDonald of Ontario, Dennis (Cindy) MacDonald of Moncton, N.B. and Darrin MacDonald of Dartmouth, N.S.; two sisters, her twin, Birtha Shaw of Dartmouth, N.S. and Alice Rafters of Ottawa, Ontario; twenty grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Percy Sinclair Macdonald; three sons, Christopher, Allan and Percy Jr.; five brothers, Art, Edward, Maynard, Sherman and Fulton; three sisters, Mabel, Leona and Emma and by her grandson, Douglas Riley.
Arrangements are entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (364-8188). Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or service as requested by Bessie. Thank you to the staff at the Drew Nursing Home for their loving care of our mother and to all of the family for their support, especially Dennis and Cindy for being there for Mom. We are so grateful, thank-you so much.
