Obituary of Robert Doherty
Sackville, N.B.- Robert “Bud” Doherty, age 90, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 29, 2008 at the Drew Nursing Home, with Bruce and Cheryl by his side. Bud was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Born in Fairfield, N.B. on October 16, 1917, he was the son of the late Robert and Estella (Crossman) Doherty.
Bud was a member of Brotherhood at Main Street Baptist Church and was an usher there for many years. He was employed at Enterprise Foundry for forty-four years, until his retirement in 1982. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He will be sadly missed by his son, Bruce (Cheryl) of Moncton, N.B.; three grandchildren, Jeff, Shelley and Tammy; four great-grandchildren, Matthew, Tara, Treika and Casi-Lynn and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife Yvonne in 2003; daughter Merla Ayer in 2005; two sisters, Norma Cole and Ruby Steeves and three brothers, Ronald, Willie and Norman.
Arrangements are entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (364-8188). The funeral service will be held at Campbell’s Funeral Home, on Monday, March 3, 2008 at 4 pm with Rev. Vernon Vickruck officiating. The family will receive visitors on Monday from 1:00 PM until the time of the service at 4 PM. Burial will take place in the spring in the Sackville Cemetery.
