Obituary of Margaret Rose Milner
Sackville, N.B.- The wife of the late David Nelson Keith (Bud) Milner, Margaret passed away at the Sackville Memorial Hospital, on Monday, March 10, 2008 at the age of eighty eight.
She was born in the farming community of Reston, Manitoba and was the oldest child of the late John (Jack) and Agnus Hannah (Buckley) Henderson.
Margaret served in the Royal Canadian Air Force during the second World War from 1941-1945, in Canada and Gander, NFLD. She was a Registered Nursing Assistant at the Sackville Medical Center, the London Victoria Children’s Hospital in London, Ontario and at the Sackville Memorial Hospital until her retirement. Margaret was a member of St. Paul’s Anglican Church. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, knitting, sewing and creating ceramic ornaments. Her great love and devotion in life was to her family and her faith.
Margaret will be dearly missed by her daughters, Ann (Daniel) Doncaster of Sackville, N.B., Jean and F.(Rick) Zentner of New Glasgow, N.S.; son Alan Milner of Moncton, N.B.; sisters, Kathleen Oberlin of Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, Geraldine (Joe) Hammel of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Marion Cronk of Bigger, Saskatchewan and Ila Nolan of Barrhead, Alberta; brother Glen (Eleanor) Henderson of Reston, Manitoba; sister-in-law, Dorothy Henderson of Moosejaw, Saskatchewan; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was also predeceased by her three brothers, Donald Henderson, Kenneth Henderson and John Henderson and three brother-in-laws, John Louey Nolan, Duncan Oberlin and Robert Cronk all from Western Canada.
Arrangements are entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (364-8188). Visitation will take place on Wednesday, March 12, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #26, Sackville, will hold a service at 7:30 PM. The funeral will be held from St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Sackville, on Thursday, March 13, 2008 at 2 pm with Rev. Kevin Stockall officiating. Burial will follow in the spring in the Sackville Cemetery. A time of fellowship and remembrance will be shared following the service at St. Paul’s Anglican Church Hall.
Donations in memory of Margaret may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society Research Fund, Canadian Lung Association, St. Paul’s Anglican Church or to the charity of one’s choice.
