Obituary of Bernice Nettie Kennedy
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Bernice Nettie (Amos) Kennedy, age 85, on May 5, 2008.
Born in Middle Sackville, N.B. on April 28, 1923, she was the only child of the late Bedford and Viola(Ward) Amos.
She will be greatly missed by daughter and son-in-law Gayle and Chris Warwick and her 3 grandchildren , James, Kathleen and Erik, all of Airdrie Alberta.
She was predeceased by her husband Morley Kennedy of Calgary Alberta in 1992.
A graduate of Sackville High School and the Mount Allison Commercial College, she was employed by the Royal Bank for a year and a half before joining the RCAF during the war and serving overseas in London. Bernice then returned to Halifax for a number of years before moving back to Sackville. She was a life member of Branch #26 Royal Canadian Legion a Member of St. Pauls Anglican Church and was involved in many things including the IODE and the Art Association.
Arrangements are entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (364-8188). Family and friends are invited to a graveside commital service at the Westcock Cemetery at 2:00pm on August 23,2008 followed by a time of tea and fellowship at the St. Ann’s Anglican Church Hall in Westcock.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Bernice may be made to Branch #26 Royal Canadian Legion, St. Ann’s or St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Sackville or to a charity of your choice.
