Obituary of Ina Madelyn Fillmore
Sackville, N.B.- It is with sadness that the family of Ina M. Fillmore, age 85, announce her passing on Friday, October 10, 2008 at the Drew Nursing Home.
Born in Sackville, N.B. on September 6, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Hantford and Eva (Bowser) Fillmore.
Ina lived in Toronto, Ontario from 1954 until her move back to Sackville in 1965. In Sackville she worked at several places including the telephone company as a switchboard operator and Enterprise Foundry. Ina ran her own daycare and as well had a store on Bridge Street called “The Button Box” before taking a job as a library clerk at Mount Allison University.
Ina will be sadly missed by her son Tony Fillmore of Halifax, N.S.; brother Leslie (Dolly) Fillmore of Sackville, N.B. and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brother Carlson Fillmore and by her sisters, Muriel Berry and Helen Crossman.
Arrangements are entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (364-8188). As per Ina’s wishes, there will not be a formal visitation or funeral service. A grave side service will be held at a later date in the Sackville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Ina may be made to the Alzheimer Society, Canadian Cancer Society or to the charity of ones choice.
