Obituary of Rolph Samuel Crossman
Sackville, N.B.- It is with sadness that the family of Rolph S.Crossman, announce his passing on Sunday, February 15, 2009 at the Drew Nursing Home. Rolph was 85 years of age.
Born on September 9, 1923, in Sackville, N.B., he was the son of the late Earl and Janet (Wright) Crossman.
Rolph was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #26, Sackville, N.B. He was a great outdoors man and enjoyed hiking, camping, gardening and working in the woods and in more recent times, loved to have his morning coffee with his friends at Mel’s Tea Room. Rolph was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be sadly missed by his family and all who knew him.
Rolph is survived by his three daughters, Susan (Laurie) Melanson; Marilyn (Neil) Leaman and Caroline Goodwin (Larry Parsons); one brother Albert (Ruth) Crossman; four grandchildren, Lisa, Carrie Anne, Jason and Becky; three great-grandchildren, Jade, Sophie and Lillian and by several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife Janie in 2001; two brothers, Bonar and Robert and by his sister, Helen Weldon.
Arrangements are entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (364-8188). Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. from Campbell’s Funeral Home, Sackville, N.B. The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #26, will hold a remembrance service at 7:30 PM Tuesday evening. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at 1 pm from Campbell’s Funeral Home with Pastor Hugh Davidson officiating. Burial will take place in the Sackville Cemetery in the spring.
