Obituary of Daisy Chloe Trenholm
It is with great sadness that the family of Daisy C. (Burns) Trenholm, of Cape Spear, N.B., announce her passing at the Westford Nursing Home, Port Elgin, N.B. on Monday, August 17, 2009. Daisy was 99 years of age.
Born on August 19, 1909 in Cape Tormentine, N.B., she was the daughter of the late Thomas Vaughan and Elizabeth Ann (Oulton) Burns.
Daisy lived all her life in Cape Spear, N.B. and was an upstanding person in her community. She played piano as well as the organ for the Cape Spear Church. Daisy was always up for a game of cards and enjoyed bingo in earlier days. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed being outdoors. Daisy will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister and friend.
Daisy will be sadly missed by her children, Donald (Duddy) Trenholm of Cape Spear, N.B., Dana Trenholm of Port Elgin, N.B. and his wife Jean of Ontario, Joan (Ray) Pauley of Bayside, N.B., Ouida Duguay of Petit Cap, N.B., Keith Trenholm of Saint John, N.B., Marilyn (Lionel) Halfkenny of Port Elgin, N.B. and Thomas (Nancy) Trenholm of Brookdale, N.S.; sister, Mary Field of Port Elgin, N.B., sister-in-law, Norma Ferguson of Cape Tormentine, N.B. and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband Lionel Trenholm in 2007; son Vaughn; two daughters-in-law, Patricia A.(Donald)Trenholm and Beatrice(Keith)Trenholm; son-in-law Abel (Ouida) Duguay and three brothers Borden, Harry and Harold and her sister Hilda Blacklock.
Arrangements are entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (364-8188). Visitation will take place on Wednesday, August 19, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Trenholm home, #34 Cape Spear Cross Road, Cape Spear, N.B. The funeral service will take place at the Cape Tormentine United Church, on Thursday, August 20, 2009 at 2 PM with Rev. Bill Drysdale officiating. Burial will take place in the Bayfield Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Daisy may be made to the Cape Tormentine United Church, Bayfield Cemetery, Westford Nursing Home or to the charity of ones choice.
