Obituary of Twila Angenette Ayer
Sackville, N.B.- It is with sadness that the family of Twila Angenette Ayer announce her passing after a short illness, on Sunday, August 30, 2009 at the Sackville Memorial Hospital. Twila was 86 years of age.
Born in New Bandon, N.B. on May 31, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Reta (Jagoe) Smith.
During her younger years, Twila was employed by the Marshlands Inn, Sackville. Twila was a member of the Salem Baptist Church.
Twila will be sadly missed by her children, Bonnie (Tom) Redmond of Bathurst, N.B. and Duane (Sandra) Ayer of Sackville, N.B.; her grandchildren, Kelly (Glen) Hanson and Darryl Redmond; step-grandchildren, Tony and Keith Ward; great grandchild, Kennedi Hanson; step-great-grandchildren, Wayne, Julia and Alex Ward; sisters, Rhoda Scott, Neta Hicks, Leona Smith and Betty Miller; brothers, Hales, Arthur and Harry Smith and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Herman Ayer in 2006; sister Shirley Ayer and by her brother Harper Smith.
Arrangements are entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (364-8188). Visitation will take place on Tuesday, September 1, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM from the funeral home. The funeral service will be held from the Salem Baptist Church on Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at 11 A.M. with Pastor Morris Mills officiating. Burial will take place in the Four Corners Cemetery. Following the service a time of fellowship and remembrance will be held at the Salem Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Twila may be made to the Salem Baptist Church Building Fund, Canadian Cancer Society Research Fund or to the charity of ones choice.
