Obituary of Norma Marie Suzie Gillis
Midgic, N.B.- It is with sadness that the family of Norma (LeBlanc) Gillis announce her passing on Monday, November 22, 2010 at her home in Midgic, N.B. Norma was 83 years of age.
Born in Amherst, N.S. on November 14, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Leo Joseph and Clara (Casey) LeBlanc.
Norma enjoyed crocheting, shopping, collecting special things such as dolls and clocks and loved her bingo tickets. She enjoyed attending the Midgic Baptist Church and will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Norma was a loving daughter,sister,aunt,mother,grandmother,great-grandmother,great-great-grandmother and friend.
Norma will be sadly missed by her children, Marilyn Landry (Albert), Layton Hannah (Debbie), Diane Jakubiec, Elaine Landry (Lloyd), Gerry Landry (Brenda), David Landry (Dee-Dee) and Tammy Phinney (Vernon); sisters, Gertie, Yvonne, Tillie, and Joan; brother Leo Jr.; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was pre-deceased by her first husband Edmond Landry in 1996 and by her second husband Ron Gillis in 2002; daughter Clara-Ann in 2010; infant son Jason in 1973; sister Shirley and by her brothers Billy and Roy.
Arrangements are entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (364-8188). In keeping with Norma’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. The funeral service will take place on Saturday, November 27, 2010 at 2 PM at the Midgic Baptist Church with Rev. Hal Lowther officiating. Burial will take place in the spring in the Pointe de Bute Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Norma may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the charity of ones choice.
