Obituary of Jeffrey Corkerton

It is with deep sadness that the family of Jeffrey Corkerton announces his passing on Tuesday, August 18, 2026 at The Moncton Hospital at the age of 75.

Born in Aston-Under-Lyne, England on July 14, 1951, he was a son of the late Eric and Joan (Brooks) Corkerton.

Prior to moving with his family to Quebec in 1979 to work in the sheet metal industry, Jeff  was actively involved with scouting, starting as a boy and grew into a leader. He continued that involvement in Boy Scouts with the Ile-Perrot Scout Group as a leader and as a group committee member before retiring to New Brunswick. He was a quiet man who enjoyed anything outdoors especially fishing and camping. Jeff was an avid fan of England’s National teams while also supporting Canada’s National teams.

Jeff will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 56 years, Irene (Meredith) Corkerton; his sons, Robert (Lise) Corkerton and Philip Corkerton; his daughter, Sara (Rob) Hayden; his grandchildren, Ashley, Amber, Caleb,  Rosalee, Merek and Meredith; his brother, Graham Corkerton;  his sisters, Janet (late Arthur) Woods and Christine (Brian) Keywood as well as by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Jeff will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Erin Campbell and staff of Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville N.B. (506) 364-8188. In keeping with Jeff’s wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be a service at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Sackville on September 19, 2026 at 2:00 o’clock with Rev. Wendy MacWilliams officiating. There will be a private burial in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens, Moncton, at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Jeff may be made to Boy Scouts of Canada (Ile-Perrot Scout Group) or to the charity of one’s choice.
