Obituary of Simonne Lerette

Simonne Lerette, affectionately known as “Sam”, passed away on Monday, August 17, 2026 after a period of declining health.

Born on October 12, 1944 in Sackville, NB, she was the daughter of the late Hollis Wheaton and Sadie (Doiron).

Simonne will be remembered most of all as a devoted mother and a woman whose life was defined by the people she loved. She leaves behind her two sons, Rick Lerette and his wife, Joanne of Stoughton, Massachusetts and Dale Lerette of Amherst, NS.

She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Danielle and her husband, Jon Silva, Blake Lerette and Cameron Lerette, all who brought her great joy and happiness in her life. Sam is also survived by her sister, Debbie (Terrance) Wheaton of Midgic, NB.

She was pre-deceased by her husband, Darryl “Pete” Lerette, as well as by her brothers, Wayne Wheaton and Dick Wheaton.

Her family will forever cherish the memories they shared with her, the lessons she passed along and the lasting impact she had on their lives. Though she is no longer with them, Sam’s love and memory will continue to live on through her sons, grandchildren, sister and all of those who were fortunate enough to have known her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Erin Campbell and staff of Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (506) 364-8188.  In keeping with Sam’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visiting hours or funeral service. A graveside committal will take place at the Midgic Cemetery on Sunday, August 23, 2026 at 2:30 pm.
