Obituary of Perry Donald Patterson

It is with great sadness that we must announce the unexpected passing of Perry Donald Patterson at The Moncton Hospital on Monday, July 20, 2026 following a brief illness. Perry passed away with his sisters by his side at the age of 66.

Born in Sackville, NB on April 11, 1960, he was the son of the late Katherine Lovana (Briggs) Patterson and William Patterson.

Perry was previously employed by Doug Trenholm working on the farm, which was a job he really loved. He always enjoyed helping others and would check in frequently on you if you were unwell or in need of support. Perry was a very generous man and loved his family, especially the younger nieces and nephews. He lived his life his way, and he will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Perry will be lovingly remembered by his father, William Patterson; his son, Peter John Patterson Garland; his granddaughter, Maddison “Madi” Garland; his two sisters, Linda (Gary) Dunham and Rhonda (Anthony) Hicks; his step-brother, Lewis (Terri) Smith;  his sister-in-law, Marjorie Patterson; his two uncles, Garnet and Victor; his two aunts, Lorna and Sylvia; his special friends, Cora, Nancy and Dave, as well as by several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends

Besides his mother, Perry was pre-deceased by his brothers, Larry Patterson and Kevin Patterson.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (364-8188).  In keeping with Perry’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visiting hours or funeral service. A graveside service will take place on Saturday, August 1, 2026 at 11 am in the Point De Bute Cemetery and all are welcome to attend. A reception will follow at Campbell’s Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Perry may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to PAW, Moncton (People for Animal Well Being).
