Obituary of Joan Elizabeth (Pavle) Keehn

It is with profound sadness that the family of Joan Elizabeth (Pavle) Keehn announces her peaceful passing on Friday, July 3, 2026, at the age of 95, at Westford Nursing Home in Port Elgin, New Brunswick.

Born in Kelowna, British Columbia, on September 9, 1930, Joan was the daughter of the late John Jacob Pavle and Elizabeth (Riseser) Pavle.

Joan was predeceased by her beloved husband and lifelong companion, Reinhold Keehn, who passed away on March 18, 2009  as well as by her dear son, Darby Keehn.

She leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory: her sons, Richard (Dianne) Keehn of Dorchester, NB, Thomas (Deborah) Keehn of Port Elgin, NB, and Danny Keehn of Aulac, NB; her sister, Betty Kerr of British Columbia; her 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter. She will also be lovingly remembered by her extended family, dear friends, and all whose lives were touched by her kindness and warmth.

Joan was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Her greatest joy in life was being surrounded by family and creating a welcoming home filled with love, laughter, and good food. She was well known for her generous hospitality and her exceptional cooking and baking. Family gatherings were often made special by her homemade treats, especially her famous butter tarts and Danish pastries topped with colorful sprinkles—favorites her grandchildren eagerly anticipated and memories they will treasure for years to come.

A faithful servant of Jehovah, Joan dedicated her life to her faith and was an active member of Jehovah’s Witnesses since 1953. Her unwavering trust in Jehovah God and the promises of the Bible were a source of strength, comfort, and guidance throughout her life. She found great peace in the hope of the earthly resurrection spoken of at John 5:28, 29, a hope that continues to bring comfort to her family and friends during this time of loss.

In keeping with Joan’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Arrangements have been entrusted to Erin Campbell and staff of Campbell’s Funeral Home, Sackville, New Brunswick.

A memorial service celebrating Joan’s life will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at 2:30 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Sackville, New Brunswick.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Westford Nursing Home for the compassionate care, kindness, and dignity shown to Joan throughout her time there.

Though she will be greatly missed, Joan’s family and friends find comfort in the many precious memories she leaves behind and in the Bible’s promise of a future reunion.
