Obituary of Pearl Ann Stone
It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of Pearl Ann (Johnson) Stone on Friday, June 5, 2026 at the age of 87. Pearl died peacefully at the Drew Nursing Home in Sackville, with her loving granddaughter by her side.
Born in Westcock, NB, on October 24, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Donald Purdy Johnson and Margaret Keiver (Estabrooks) Johnson.
Pearl worked as administrative assistant for Agriculture Canada Animal Pathology Laboratory, Secretary at Armco, Fawcett Foundry and Enterprise Foundry.
Pearl was a longtime member of St. Ann’s Anglican Church, the Anglican Church Women, the Altar Guild, the fundraising committee and was the craft group leader. She was past secretary-treasurer of the Westcock Cemetery. Pearl was a member of the Cookville and Midgic Women’s Institute. She was a member of the Sackville and Area Housing Board serving as either Secretary or Treasurer over the years. Pearl created beautiful hooked rugs and paintings, she made delicious peanut butter fudge and enjoyed sharing her baking with her family and friends. She loved spending her summers in her beautiful flower beds. She enjoyed playing Tuesday night Legion radio bingo. Buddy the cat was her faithful companion. Pearl will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Pearl will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Vicki (Peter) Estabrooks; her sons, Donald (Chandran Fernando) Stone and Bruce (late Judy) Stone; her grandchildren, Cara (Tanner) Stangby, Samantha (Stevy) Fillmore, Kristin (Harry Williams) Estabrooks, Ryan Estabrooks, Morgan Stone; her great-grandchildren, Landen, Hunter, Ava, Brice, Ashlyn, Finley and Olivia; her siblings, Benjamin (late Barbara) Johnson, Joan (late Robert) Milner, Brian (Brenda) Johnson, David (late Avis) Johnson, Larry (Carmelle) Johnson, Frederick (Debbie) Johnson, Judy (Ricky) Robichaud; her sister-in-law, Kim Johnson, as well as by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Besides her parents, she was pre-deceased by her husband, Ronald Stone; her son, Ronald Brent Stone, as well as by her brothers, Joseph (late Rachel) Johnson, Robert Johnson and Ronald (late Cynthia) Johnson.
The family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to the Westford Nursing Home and the Chignecto Unit of the Drew Nursing Home for the wonderful care and kindness shown to Pearl during her stay there.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Erin Campbell and staff of Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (506) 364-8188. Visiting hours will take place at the funeral home on Friday, June 12, 2026 from 6-8 pm. The funeral service will take place at the St. Ann’s Anglican Church, 65 British Settlement Road, on Saturday, June 13, 2026 at 1 pm with Father Craig O’Brien officiating. The burial will take place in the Westcock Cemetery, followed by a reception at St. Ann’s Church Hall. All are invited to attend.
