Obituary of Janet Claudia Farella

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Janet Claudia Farella on Sunday, May 24, 2026 at the Sackville Memorial Hospital.

Born on January 19, 1944 in Kirkland Lake, Ontario, she was the daughter of the late Mary Georgina (Brown) and Thomas Claude Burns.

Janet was a Girl Guide leader and a volunteer and member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 26. Janet loved gardening, reading and she was always willing to help out where she was needed. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Janet will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 64 years, Dominico Farella; her son, Giuseppe Farella; her daughter, Maria Farella; her grandson, Anthony Farella; her granddaughters, Keely Clark and Alexandra Farella-Vugts; her great-grandson, Tobias Bebawy-Clark; her sisters, Marian Dejardins, Iris Burns, Joanne Alexander as well as by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Besides her parents, Janet is predeceased by her siblings, Helen Liscomb, Robert “Bob” Burns, Walter Burns, Elaine Perrier and Linda Lonsdale.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Erin Campbell and staff of Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville N.B. (506) 364-8188. In accordance with Janet’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or funeral services.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Janet may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the charity of one’s choice.
