My condolences to all the family. Dick will be dearly missed.
I was lucky enough to meet both Dick and Juanita when visiting NS with my Mum -- Dick's Aunt Rhoda -- and my sister Bev almost 30 years ago.
I still have my Mum's copy of Dick's "Tales of the Horse," which I've read a number of times and which sits in one of my special, "most treasured" bookcases.
Dick lived an admirable, honourable life. My sympathies for your loss.

When Bob was a young child, Dick worked for R Hickman Lumber. Dick worked on the heavy equipment, making roads and moving logs. Those fond memories of watching Dick stayed with Bob and were revived each time they met. It is a sad day when we lose a man of Dick's character.

Dick was such a nice man and a great person to work for. I only worked with Dick for the short period I was in Dorchester about 1 1/2 years. But Dick was the kind of person who once you met him you never forgot him. Heaven is better off now with Dick there, but the world has lost a good man. Rest easy Dick. My condolences to his family and friends.

When I went to work in Dorchester in 1971, Dick was a Keeper and he was instrumental in teaching me the ropes about the prison which was a max at the time. He was quiet but commanded respect. All my memories of Dick are positive

Dear Ann, family and McLeod family
Dick ( and Juanita) were wonderful neighbours when we lived in Westcock. Such a quiet and unassuming man, always kind and gentle. I loved seeing his beautiful horses in the pasture across from us . Clydesdales while we lived there, so well loved and cared for.
My warmest condolences and deepest sympathies to all of the family

A life well lived on his own terms... He worked hard, was kind, charitable, supportive and a wonderful brother. His dedication to what he perceived as his duty was almost legendary. He did what had to be done and made no fuss about it.
Its hard to imagine Westcock without him and his spectacular garden and his gruff, reticent presence. His many contributions to his community and his family will never be known in their entirety.
A man of few words, always to the point and when you needed his support it was there.
All his family will miss him greatly
I know he would hate me saying it... but "love you"
Norman Yolande Isabelle Michael Rachael and James.
