Obituary of Doris Mary Chevarie

It is with sadness that the family of Doris Mary Chevarie announces her passing on April 13, 2026 at the Drew Nursing Home, Sackville at the age of 94.

Born on July 18, 1931 in Middle Sackville, NB,  she was a daughter of the late Alice (Richards) and Ernest Leger.

Doris was very kind and always there to help whoever needed it. She knew “everyone” and loved to socialize. She welcomed visitors at her home and enjoyed time with friends, shopping, walking and being active. Doris was stubborn but funny and sassy. She could take a joke and she could also dish it back out. Doris will be greatly missed by all those that knew and loved her.

Doris is survived by her daughter, Michelle; her grandsons, Shawn (Steffani) and Stephan; her granddaughters, Shania and Laqurecha; her sisters, Anita and Albertine; her great-grandchildren; her nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Besides her parents, Doris was predeceased by her husband, Vincent Joseph Chevarie; her sisters, Jean, Louise and Alma as well as by her brother, Ivan.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Erin Campbell and staff of Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville N.B. (506) 364-8188. In keeping with Doris’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. A graveside service in the St. Vincent’s Holy Rosary Cemetery will be held at a later date.

Memorial donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
