Obituary of Charles Auguste Hubert

It is with deep sadness and sorrow that the family of Charles A. Hubert, age 85, announces his passing on Monday, March 30, 2026. Charles passed away at the Drew Nursing Home with his family by his side.

 

Born in Sackville, N.B. on May 25, 1941, he was the son of the late Charles Edward Hubert and Beatrice (Holmes). 

 

Charles began working early, employed as a grocery boy, retiring in 2000 as the owner of FRS Supplies in Sackville. He was past president of the Sackville Curling Club and former member of the Kinsmen Club. Charles enjoyed summers at the cottage in Bayfield which was one of his favorite places to be. He always loved time spent in his garage tinkering and was a great organizer, with his garage being called “Home Hardware”. Charles will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

 

Charles will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 66 years, Anne (Estabrooks) Hubert; his sons, Mark (Gina) Hubert and Jody (Barb) Hubert; his daughter, Kimberly (Randy) Ward; his granddaughter, Kelsey Ward; his brothers, Blair (Diane) Hubert, James (Linda) Hubert and William Hubert; his sister, Charlene Hubert as well as by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

 

Besides his parents, he was pre-deceased by his brothers, Brian, Bruce and Arthur.

 

The family wishes to send a heartfelt thank you to the caregivers on Chignecto Unit at the Drew Nursing home for their amazing care and kindness during Charles’ stay there.  

 

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Erin Campbell and staff of Campbell’s Funeral Home, Sackville (506) 364-8188. In keeping with Charles’ wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or funeral service. A graveside service will take place in the Four Corners Cemetery in the spring, with time and date to be announced. All will be welcome to attend.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Charles may be made to Parkinson Canada, Canadian Lewy Body Dementia, Four Corners Burying Ground, Middle Sackville Baptist Church or to the charity of one’s choice.
