Obituary of Rebecca Maria Tarkowski

It is with great sadness that we must announce the passing of Rebecca Maria Tarkowski, age 82, of Sackville, NB on Thursday, March 12, 2026 at the Sackville Memorial Hospital.

Born in Fox Harbour, NL, on August 22, 1943, she was a daughter of the late William and Josephine (King) Baker.

Rebecca, also affectionately known as Beck or Becky, loved romance movies, books and television. She loved to laugh and had a wonderful sense of humour. She enjoyed playing games on her phone, loved a good game of scrabble or cards, and she will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Rebecca will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her husband of 62 years, Richard; her daughter, Linda Gosling of Whitby, ON; her son, Steven Tarkowski of Airdrie, AB; her sisters, Bride Raffolo (Sam), Maria Burkhart (Jeff), Rose Brooks (Bob), Josie Baker, Pat Ormsby (Don), Donna Baker, Shirley Baker (Austin) and Chris Baker (Mark) and her brother, Ed Baker. Rebecca is also survived by grandchildren, Rachel Gosling, Brian Gosling, Halle Tarkowski, Kyra Tarkowski, and Amy Tarkowski, as well as by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Besides her parents, she was pre-deceased by her sister, Linda, as well as by her brothers, Bill and Jim Baker.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Erin Campbell and the staff of Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville N.B. (506) 364-8188. In keeping with Rebecca’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visiting hours or funeral services.
